A big thank you to all who submitted! Our team reviewed and discussed over 50 talks and workshops. Not every talk could be accepted unfortunately but we appreciate all of them. We did our best to put together a fun, interesting, and wide ranging program for you.

Women in Tech Sessions

We’d like to draw your attention to a session particularly important to us which will take place on Friday afternoon. During this event, diverse groups and initiatives, whose aim is to foster diversity in tech, will have the opportunity to present them in a round of lightning talks. After which there will be time to connect and network, and an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas.

Pi Day was yesterday - PyDays lie ahead!

The earliest known large-scale celebration of Pi Day took place in 1988; two whole years before the first release of Python! This is important knowledge that obviously have a profound impact on your life and we thought you should know. ¯\(ツ)/¯

Moving swiftly on… with PyDays Vienna taking place soon, it is time for a quick update!

Call for Participation

There are only 10 days to go until the call for participation closes. PyDays is all about sharing knowledge and learning from one another, and we strongly believe every one of you has something to say. If you haven’t done so yet why not have a look over our invitation and consider submitting a talk. We are here to help!

Spread the Word

Help us spread the word and invite your friends, colleagues, your aunt, granny, second cousin twice removed, anyone you think might be interested. To make things easier for you, we have prepared (yes, we spoil you) not only an invitation text but also a poster in our press kit.

Just like last year we are looking forward to welcoming a diverse audience and line-up of speakers. Seriously, everyone (respecting our CoC) is welcome at PyDays! (We reserve, however, the right to refuse entry to dead parrots unless they are merely resting.)

PyDays 2018 - A Review

After PyDays Vienna’s ragingly successful premiere in 2017, a sequel was only natural, a sequel with even more Python goodness for the local Python community in Vienna. The talks had something for everyone in web development, automation and (data) science, as well as inspiring keynotes on social coding aspects. We look back on two days with (how many) talks and 3 workshops.

Preceding PyDays Vienna 2018 a SciPyWomen workshop took place at the TU Wien where we introduced Pythons scientific computing environment to 18 interested women*. We covered some Python basics as well as more advanced topics with SciPy, NumPy and Pandas.

A week later #PyDays18 was hosted by Linuxwochen Austria at the University of Applied Sciences FH Technikum. There were 35 talks with a variety of topics which are best presented by reminiscing on some popular tweets:
